The Father’s Covenant Building Generations of Faith ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Genesis 17:1-8 “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant…” (Genesis 17:7 NKJV) Today we celebrate fathers. God is looking for SPIRITUAL FATHERS MEN & WOMEN who will carry His promises Teach His ways Raise the next generation to know Him The Abrahamic Covenant reveals God’s blueprint for generational blessing. God did not simply bless Abraham. God made Abraham a father. Not just of Isaac. Not just of Israel. But a spiritual father to all who believe. ⸻ The Covenant Is Established Through Relationship ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Before God gave Abraham land, wealth, or descendants, He called Abraham into relationship. God’s covenant was not based on Abraham’s perfection. It was based on God’s promise. Abraham Character • He obeyed God’s voice. • He walked by faith. • He trusted God in impossible circumstances. Who qualifies Spiritual fathers are not perfect men. They are men who walk with God. The greatest gift a father can give is a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. Our children need examples more than explanations. ⸻ The Covenant Was Designed For Generations Genesis 17:7 “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you…” God thinks generationally. Most people think about today. God thinks about TOMORROW. Abraham’s Assignment: Bless so FUTURE generations! Spiritual Fathers MUST Think Beyond Themselves ASK: • Who am I mentoring? • Who am I discipling? • Who am I raising up? • What legacy will remain after I am gone? Today every believer is CONNECTED to Abraham’s blessing THROUGH FAITH. What We Inherit • Salvation • Righteousness • Purpose • Spiritual authority • Kingdom citizenship • Generational blessing What We Must Pass Forward The covenant was RECEIVED BY FAITH. It must be PASSED ON by FAITH. ⸻ Spiritual Fathers Build What They May Never Personally See Hebrews 11:8-10 Abraham never saw the fullness of what God promised. Yet he kept building. He kept believing. He kept obeying. Spiritual Fathers Truth Some seeds you plant today will not fully bloom until future generations. • Abraham planted THE COVENANT • Isaac continued THE COVENANT • Jacob expanded THE COVENANT • Joseph preserved THE COVENANT • Moses delivered THE COVENANT • Joshua possessed THE COVENANT • Jesus fulfilled THE COVENANT Legacy Principle What God starts in one generation, He completes through several generations.

When they left to tell others about the Lord, they decided not to accept help from anyone who wasn't a follower.” ‭‭3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭CEV‬‬ “We must support people like them, so we can take part in what they are doing to spread the truth.” ‭‭3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭CEV‬‬ “I wrote to the church. But Diotrephes likes to be the number-one leader, and he won't pay any attention to us. So if I come, I will remind him of how he has been attacking us with gossip. Not only has he been doing this, but he refuses to welcome any of the Lord's followers who come by. And when other church members want to welcome them, he puts them out of the church.” ‭‭3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭CEV‬‬ “Dear friend, don't imitate the evil deeds of others, but follow the example of people who do kind deeds.
