Day 14 of the Daniel Fast: Rest in His Presence

Writer's picture: Pastor ClarkPastor Clark

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” On Day 14, we are reminded of the importance of resting in God’s presence. In the busyness of life, it is essential to take time to quiet our hearts and listen for His voice. Fasting is not only about doing without but also about being still and allowing God to refresh and strengthen us.

Rest Brings Renewal

  1. Finding Peace in Stillness: When we pause to rest in God’s presence, we experience His peace. This peace surpasses all understanding and steadies our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).

  2. Hearing His Voice: Quiet moments of rest allow us to discern God’s voice more clearly. In the stillness, He reveals His plans, guidance, and love for us.

  3. Strength for the Journey: Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Resting in Him rejuvenates us spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Encouragement for Today

  • Set Aside Time to Be Still: Dedicate time to sit quietly in God’s presence. Turn off distractions and focus on His goodness.

  • Meditate on His Word: Reflect on scriptures like Psalm 46:10 and allow them to minister to your soul.

  • Trust in His Sovereignty: Resting in God means trusting that He is in control and that His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Prayer for Rest

Father, thank You for inviting us to rest in Your presence. Help us to quiet our hearts and focus on You today. Speak to us in the stillness and remind us of Your love and faithfulness. Renew our strength as we trust in You, and let Your peace fill our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Blessings,
