Day 20: Finish Strong

Writer's picture: Pastor ClarkPastor Clark

As you approach the end of this spiritual journey, it’s important to keep your focus on the purpose of this fast and the growth God is cultivating in you. In Hebrews 12:1, we are encouraged:

"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."

Just as a runner approaches the finish line with determination and strength, you are called to press on with perseverance and faith. The journey of fasting and prayer isn’t just about starting—it’s about finishing strong. Ask God today to renew your spirit and give you the strength to complete this race with joy and purpose.

Keys to Finishing Strong

  1. Keep Your Eyes on Jesus The verse preceding this calls us to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:2). When your focus is on Him, He gives you the endurance to push through any obstacle.

  2. Draw Strength from God When you feel weary, remember that God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Lean on Him to sustain you.

  3. Reflect on the Journey Take a moment to consider how far you’ve come in this fast. Celebrate the breakthroughs, the lessons, and the moments when God revealed His presence to you.

  4. Finish with Gratitude A heart of gratitude helps us finish strong. Thank God for the ways He has worked in your life during this time of fasting, and trust that He will continue to guide you beyond it.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, Thank You for walking with me throughout this fast. As I near the end of this journey, give me the perseverance to finish strong and with a renewed spirit. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and to rely on Your strength when I feel weak. Thank You for the work You’ve done in my heart and life. May I continue to grow in faith and trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

From Pastor Clark Ortiz, Senior Pastor of Center Church in Pharr, Texas, I encourage you to stay strong and focused as you complete this journey of fasting and prayer.
