Hey family, it’s Pastor Clark Ortiz here.
Let me ask you a question that’s probably been keeping you up at 2:00 AM more often than you’d like to admit: What are you doing with that dream God planted in your heart?
You know the one. It’s that business idea, that service, that "someday" project that makes your heart beat a little faster. For too many of us, "someday" has become a code word for "never." We get bogged down by the "how." How do I file the paperwork? How do I find customers? How do I use this new AI stuff everyone is talking about?
Listen, I’ve spent over 40 years in ministry, but I’ve also spent those decades building businesses to fund Kingdom work. I’ve seen the power of the marketplace to transform lives and communities. At Center Church, we aren't just interested in your Sunday morning; we are dedicated to helping the Pharr community walk in the abundant life: and that includes your professional success.
That’s why I am personally hosting the One Day Business School Intensive on Friday, June 19th. We’re going to stop dreaming and start doing.
Why Your Business Matters to God
Before we get into the nuts and bolts of LLCs and algorithms, let’s get one thing straight: Your desire to build something is not a distraction from your faith: it’s an expression of it.
In Deuteronomy 8:18, the Word tells us, "But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today."
God gives the ability. He provides the seed, but you have to plant it and water it. This Intensive is about giving you the practical tools to steward that ability with excellence. Whether you are a seasoned professional looking to scale or someone who just has a scribbled note on a napkin, this day is for you.

From "Idea" to "Official": The LLC & Business Creation
One of the biggest hurdles I see people face is the legal and structural side of business. It feels scary, doesn't it? The IRS, the Secretary of State, the paperwork: it’s enough to make you want to go back to bed.
During our morning session, we are going to demystify the process. We’ll talk about:
Choosing the right structure: Why an LLC (Limited Liability Company) is often the "Goldilocks" choice for small businesses.
Texas-specific setup: We live in a great state for business, and I’ll walk you through the high-level steps to get your entity recognized.
The "Paperwork Peace": Getting your EIN and setting up your business banking so you can keep your personal and professional lives separate (and keep your accountant happy!).
We are moving you out of the shadows of "hobbyist" and into the light of "business owner." As Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." We are going to commit the work, but we are also going to make sure the plans are structurally sound!
Harnessing the Future: AI and Social Media Growth
If you’re not using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in your business yet, you’re trying to mow a football field with a pair of scissors. It’s 2026, and the tools available to us today are nothing short of a miracle for the small business owner.
I’ve spent years working in television, satellite, and online marketing. I’ve seen technologies come and go, but AI is a game-changer for everyone. In the afternoon, we’re going to dive deep into:
AI for Content: How to draft emails, blog posts, and marketing copy in seconds, not hours.
AI for Operations: Using tools to automate the "boring stuff" so you can focus on your calling.
Social Media Strategy: We’ll build a 30-day content plan that doesn't require you to be a professional influencer. We’ll show you how to show up authentically, share your values, and attract the people you were meant to serve.
We aren't using these tools just to be "trendy." We are using them to be effective. The more efficient your business is, the more time you have for your family and your ministry.

A Community That Walks Together
Center Church has been part of the Pharr community for 30 years. We’ve walked through challenges together, and we’ve celebrated victories together. This Business School Intensive is an extension of our Ministries.
When you attend this event, you aren't just getting a lecture. You’re joining a network of like-minded believers. You’ll be in a room with people who will pray for your success, not just compete with you. We believe in family unity and community support. When your business thrives, your family thrives, and our city thrives. That is what the abundant life looks like in action.

A Pastoral Blessing for Your Journey
Before you go, I want to pray over you and that dream of yours.
Father, I thank You for the person reading this right now. I thank You for the seeds of greatness You have placed within them. Lord, I pray against the spirit of fear and procrastination that has kept them stuck. I ask for clarity of vision and the courage to take this next step. Bless their hands, bless their minds, and let their business be a light in our community. We declare that they are moving into a season of abundance and breakthrough. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I can't wait to see you there. We’re going to work hard, we’re going to laugh a lot, and we’re going to build something that lasts.
